Milan TKD is located in historic downtown Milan, Michigan at 7 East Main Street. Our dojang is a family oriented martial arts studio specializing in Tae Kwon Do for children, teens, and adults. The school contains a matted gym with men's and women's changing rooms, spectator seating area, and a pro shop.
The primary goal at Milan TKD is not only to produce good martial artists, but also to help people feel better overall. We take our job very seriously and hope that our teaching methodology will bring a positive outlook to your life or the life of your child.
Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art and brings with it many customs and courtesies that, while different from our American way of life, also instill the same values that spread kindness and respect to others.
Milan TKD is currently open 3 days a week, and begins training children as young as 5.

HISTORY OF MILAN TKD
Milan
Tae Kwon Do was established August 5th, 1997 in the back room of a flower shop
on Dexter Street. Master Russell Gale started with ten students and within six
months had outgrown the space in the flower shop. The studio was moved to the
Food Town plaza (now known as Kroger), and continued to grow. In 1999, the
studio was moved to Main Street where it is currently located. When the studio
opened up on Main Street Master Dykes started to train at Milan Tae Kwon Do as
a 6th Geup green belt. Master Dykes earned his 1st Dan in
2001, and started to teach students at every opportunity. In 2005, Master Tanya
Panizzo was added as a partner to the program. In 2006, the Master Gale &
Panizzo opened a studio in Plymouth called Midwest Tae Kwon Do. In May of 2011,
Master Dykes assumed full responsibility as Head Instructor at Milan Tae Kwon
Do, and completely took over ownership of the studio in September of the same
year. Over the last 14 years, Milan Tae Kwon Do has promoted many students to
the rank of black belt, has contributed to the community, and has created
countless productive members of society.
Milan TKD continues to have a close relationship with Midwest TKD. Master Gale & Master Panizzo are still Master Dykes' instructors and they continue to be the coaches for the Milan TKD Competition Team. In addition, the two schools support each other's monthly belt tests and hold their black belt tests together twice a year.
Milan Tae Kwon Do adheres to the Chung Do Kwan style of Tae Kwon Do and follows the policies of the World Tae Kwon Do Federation located at the Kukkiwon in Seoul, South Korea.
